バイリンガル英語小説 【Very Short】 第２話 ~Frustration~

苛立ち　～Frustration～


　　律は、階段を降りると冷蔵庫を開け、ビタミンＣ入り飲料水のペットボトルを

取り出して飲んだ。
　　
　　―暑い―
　　
　　テーブルに目がいく。何層にも巻いたきれいに切り分けられている厚焼き卵と

サラダが載っていた。律は、卵を一つ頬張った。義母の卵料理は、死んだ母のより

美味しい事は律も認めていた。もう一つ、と律が手を伸ばしたところで、義母が

キッチンに入ってきた。

　「りっちゃん、パン焼くから座って食べなさい」

　「もう、行くから良い」律はぶっきらぼうにそう言うと、急いで玄関に向かった。

　　Ritsu went down stairs to the kitchen. She opened the refrigerator,

took a bottled soft drink with high vitamin C content, and drank it.

　　―It is already getting hot―

　　Her attention was drawn to what were on the table for breakfast,

Layer of egg omelet cut evenly into pieces and salad. She took

a piece of the omelet and fill her mouth with it. Ritsu had admitted

her stepmother’s omelet tasted better than her real mother's

who had passed away. When she was reaching another piece, her

stepmother came in the kitchen.

　　“Ri, toast will be ready soon, so why don’t you sit and finish the omelet”

　　“I don’t want it anymore. I was leaving anyway” As soon as she said that,

Ritsu rushed to the entrance door.

　　靴を履いていると、後ろから義母の足音が近づいてきた。
　
　「朝は少しでもお腹に入れなきゃ駄目よ、りっちゃん」

　　義母は、背後から卵焼きを刺した楊枝を律の耳の辺りに差し出した。横目で卵焼きを見て、

楊枝を手に取り「行ってきます」と小さな声で言うと律は玄関を出た。

義母の卵焼きを好きだという事がばれたと思うと、律は羞恥心で一杯になった。

でももう１人の自分が言う。

　　―そんな事くらいで動揺しない！―

　　While she put her shoes on, she heard her stepmother’s footstep

coming towards her.

　　“Ri, you need to eat in a morning, just a little more bite”

　　As she said it, she handed a piece of omelet pricked on a toothpick

around Ritsu’ear from behind. Ritsu looked out of the corner of

her eyes at it and took the toothpick.

　　“I gotta go.” she said in an undertone and left.

　　She felt humiliated thinking now her stepmother knew Ritsu really

liked the omelet she made. But deep down, part of her admonished Ritsu.

　　―Don’t get disturbed by that small thing!―
